Privacy Policy — BreathAssistant

Overview

BreathAssistant is a simple, offline breathing companion. It guides you through the 4-7-8 pattern — breathe in for 4, hold for 7, breathe out for 8 — with a calm animated circle, gentle voice cues, and optional haptics. The app is a wellness and relaxation practice. Follow the circle and set your pace at Rest, Walking, or Running. It is for general wellbeing and relaxation only.

Data We Do Not Collect

BreathAssistant collects no data. We do not ask you to create an account, sign in, or provide personal information. There is no server, no login, and no data transmitted off your device.

  • No analytics, advertising, or marketing SDKs
  • No third-party services that collect data from you
  • No personal information shared with anyone

In short: no data leaves your phone because we do not collect any in the first place.

On-Device Storage

Everything the app remembers stays on your device, in local storage.

  • Session history — cycle counts and durations you complete — is saved in AsyncStorage under @breathassistant:sessions and related keys (including the first-run flag @breathassistant:hasSeenOnboarding). This data never leaves the device and is not sent to any server.
  • Preferences — speed mode (Rest, Walking, Running), duration, sound and haptic settings — are stored locally the same way.
  • Bundled audio — voice prompts, chimes, ambient beds, and ticks in assets/sounds/ — ships inside the app. No audio is streamed or uploaded.

You can clear the history from the Stats screen. Removing the app removes all on-device data. The app works fully offline — even in airplane mode, without an account, and without connecting to any service.

Children's Privacy

BreathAssistant does not collect data from anyone, including children. No age-gating is needed because no personal information is collected at any age.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated text will be posted here with a new effective date.
